2012 Membership Fees

Please note that fees include 13% H.S.T.
Membership is non-transferable and non-refundable.

$271.16 Lawyers who are members of the Law Society of Upper Canada, practising law within the City of Hamilton. (note: this category fee includes a CDLPA levy along with applicable gst thereon.)
$125.96 Lawyers who are members of the Law Society of Upper Canada who are engaged in full-time remunerative work and are not engaged in the practice of law, including those employed in education, government or corporations or as mediators, arbitrators or conciliators within the City of Hamilton.
$134.54 Lawyers who are members of the Law Society of Upper Canada working outside the City of Hamilton, who practice law and belong to the Law Association in their area, or are otherwise engaged in full-time remunerative work and are not engaged in the practice of law, including those employed in education, government or corporations or as mediators, arbitrators or conciliators.
$122.30 Lawyers practicing as assistant Crown Attorneys.
$233.53 Lawyers who are over 65 years of age , and have been practising in the City of Hamilton for 25+ years.
$60.35 Lawyers who have retired after 25 years or more of membership in the Hamilton Law Association.
$81.48 Lawyers who have been called to the bar in the present year, or have not been HLA members in the past or members whose HLA membership has lapsed for five years or more who would otherwise be Category 1 members.
$125.96 Lawyers who provide satisfactory proof to the Executive Director that they are working either at the practice of law or at other remunerative work on a part-time basis.
$60.35 Lawyers who are members of the Law Society of Upper Canada and are not currently engaged in remunerative work or are on maternity paternity or adoption leave.
$60.35 Judiciary membership in the Hamilton Law Association is granted to all members of the Bench, including those retired.
NO FEE Life membership in the Hamilton Law Association is granted to lawyers who have been in practice over 50 years, of which at least 25 were spent in Hamilton.
NO FEE Honourary membership in the Hamilton Law Association can be granted by the Board from time to time to individuals for a one year period.
