Law Practice Program Work Placement (4 Month Term to Commence Jan. 2021)
Posted on: Oct 09, 2020
Overview of the LPP
The Law Practice Program is a pathway to becoming licensed as a lawyer in Ontario and is considered by the LSO an equivalent to articling. The program involves an initial four months of simulated practical experience followed by a four month Work Placement with an Ontario lawyer. Lawyers who take on an LPP candidate make arrangements through the LPP and do not have to file forms with the LSO.
For reference, additional information about the program can be found on the Law Practice Program's website, employer page.
I graduated from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC in 2018 with an overall "B+" average and have passed both the Ontario Barrister and Solicitor exams. I also have recent business experience in the regulated cannabis industry in the areas of real estate and licensing. I am interested in securing a work placement with exposure to litigation work. I am particularly interested in the area of labour and employment law, and was awarded in law school for outstanding performance in a labour law course. While my preference is for a paid position, I am open to the possibility of an unpaid position.
