Posted on: Jan 25, 2019

In 2018 The Hamilton Law Association made two $500 donations to the Onkwawenna Kentyohkwa Language School. These donations were made on behalf of the 32nd Annual Joint Insurance Seminar and the 18th Annual Conference volunteers. Onkwawenna Kentyohkwa (Our Language Society) is a community-based organization that teaches Kanyen’keha (the “Mohawk” language) to adults on the Six Nations Grand River Territory. The $1000.00 donated contributed to the many important programs and activities run by the Onkwawenna Kentyohkwa staff and students.

Message from the President

This is my fourth infomercial to the members of the HLA. I have just returned from the HLA sponsored tour to Peru that focused on Machu Picchu and the Amazon. It was a great vacation with some interesting and informative CPD, as well as good friendship and camaraderie. Stay tuned as to whether the Trustees decide to continue with HLA trips in 2020 and, if so, where. My personal thought is to plan for a shorter time away that is a bit cheaper, which would cater more to the younger lawyers. We will see. CONTINUE READING

W Patric Mackesy, President 2018-2019

The Hamilton Law Association

The Association’s affairs are governed by trustees and officers who ensure that Association undertakings are within the mandate and in the best interests of our legal community. The many valued volunteers who are members of the numerous committees within the structure of the HLA strive to represent our membership consistently and effectively. The Anthony Pepe Memorial Law Library, operated within the scope of the HLA, is one of the largest law libraries in Ontario and houses over 30,000 volumes.

The Hamilton Law Association continues to strive to educate and support its membership in the practice of law as well as to advocate for their interests as lawyers...

The staff of the Hamilton Law Association (HLA) Library cannot provide legal advice or research to members of the public directly.
