I am currently a 3rd year law student at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Although I am finishing my law degree in BC, I wish to return back home to Hamilton as an articling student for the 2020-2021 year.
Prior to attending UBC law, I completed a Bachelor of Arts at York University and graduated with a degree in Psychology. Following this, I attended UBC, which allowed me the opportunity to enrich my experiences working within the legal field by participating in local and international work opportunities.
On the international scale, I was able to travel to Hanoi to work as a summer intern at Baker McKenzie which helped diversify my experience accommodating clients from different cultural, linguistic and educational experiences than I was normally familiar with.
Within the local community, I worked as a student clinician within UBC’s Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (2017-2018) and most recently, the Rise Women's Legal Centre (2019-present), which focuses primarily on family law. My experience as a student clinician under these positions have helped reinforce my ability to perform client work and manage client files, and has given me the opportunity to familiarize myself with proper client and court procedure.
I am currently interested in an opportunity relating to family law, given my experiences at the Rise Women’s Legal Centre. If you offer an opportunity in family law, and are looking for a passionate, hardworking articling student with practical experience in family law, please do not hesitate to contact me.
