Mouck Workplace Law is a Hamilton-based employment law firm specializing in employment law, labour relations, workplace investigations, and litigation. The firm provides practical, strategic legal advice to employers, employees, small and medium-sized businesses, and nonprofits, with a strong focus on trusted client relationships, efficiency, and cost-effective solutions.

The firm is seeking an experienced Lawyer with approximately 3-7 years of legal experience, ideally with a background in employment law and litigation. Candidates with strong civil litigation experience and an interest in developing an employment law practice are also encouraged to apply. This role is well suited to a lawyer seeking autonomy, file ownership, and the opportunity to build long-term client relationships.

Key responsibilities include advising employers and employees on employment standards, human rights, accommodation, discipline, terminations, wrongful dismissal, and labour relations matters. The lawyer will draft employment agreements, policies, severance and settlement documentation, negotiate resolutions, conduct workplace investigations, and advise on collective bargaining and union-related matters.

The role also involves independently managing litigation files from initial consultation through resolution or trial, including pleadings, motions, discoveries, mediations, hearings, and trials. Representation may include the Ontario Labour Relations Board, Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, arbitrations, and courts.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, organization, judgment, and litigation skills, with the ability to work independently while collaborating with support staff and colleagues. Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario and an LL.B. or J.D. are required.
