Invitation to Join Dundas Valley School of Art (DVSA) Board of Governors

We are recruiting individuals with a legal background to enhance critical thinking and risk management skills on our policy governance Board of Governors. The recruit will not be legal counsel to the Board.

Applicant Profile

Applicants are interested in art, education, and community engagement. Committed to equity, we value diverse perspectives applications from members of equity-seeking communities. Applicants demonstrate:

• An interest DVSA’s creative arts mission to make art accessible to all.
• leadership, financial literacy, and governance knowledge (preferred but not essential)
• respectful and inclusive communication that aligns with our mission and values
• integrity, sound judgement, critical thinking, and community connections.

Board Commitment

• approximately 6 hours/month, including monthly, in-person, evening meetings on the third Wednesday of each month and participation on at least one committee (digital access available)
• participation at events and in campaigns that align with to the ability to do so.
• Governors are elected initially for a one-year term, and subsequently for two or three year terms up to a maximum of eight years.
